sibling Loss.
What is it?
Sibling Loss is a non-judgemental space for adults who have experienced the death of a sibling to come together with others who can understand and acknowledge the nuances of their grief.
This is an inclusive meeting.
You are welcome whether you were related by blood or not, your bereavement is recent or long ago, you were close or estranged, you have other siblings or not, you were raised together or not, etc.
This meeting space launches on Thursday 7th November.

Why did it start?
Siblings are often referred to as the ‘forgotten grievers’.
Sibling Loss, launched in November 2024, was created to give voice and valuable space for people who are grieving the death of someone they deem to be a sibling.
A space for those who are often unacknowledged in the world of grief, to navigate this ‘new normal’ through conversation and connection with others who really ‘get’ it.
The meeting was founded by volunteers who have themselves experienced the loss of a sibling, and it continues to be run and hosted this way.
“I started attending TNN meetings after my little brother, Samuel, died in 2020. They provided me with a desperately needed glimmer of light and hope each week.
There were few other spaces where I could mention Samuel’s name without the room falling silent.
Having met many other bereaved siblings over the last four years, I’ve learnt that we face unique challenges when navigating our grief. From the dread of being asked ‘how many siblings do you have?’, to the pain of reaching milestones that they never will.
I am passionate about creating a space for bereaved siblings to navigate these challenges together and remember that our grief is no less valid than any other type of grief.”
Daisy, founding Host of Sibling Loss
What to expect?
The meetings were created to give space to openly discuss experiences of grief in an empathetic environment, in the knowledge that they are shared with others who can relate.
