CANCER CONVERSATIONS.

What is it?

Cancer Conversations is a peer to peer support meeting and non-judgmental space for those living with, and beyond, cancer.

The space allows individuals, at any point along their cancer journey, to openly discuss and support each other with the many challenges that arise in dealing with their diagnosis.

Cancer Conversations was started, and is hosted, by those with lived experience.

Why did it start?

“Cancer can stop you in your tracks and turn your life upside down in a second.   Even when trying to express how you feel it can sometimes be difficult to communicate the multitude of feelings the arise at any stage along this journey.

A year after my diagnosis, I found myself telling everyone I was fine, as I felt this is what they wanted to hear.  But it was at this point, when treatment had finished, that I felt most vulnerable. Finding a safe space to openly express feelings with peers you can relate to can be invaluable. The power of shared concerns, knowledge, vulnerabilities and joy can be an incredible source of support.

I’m really happy to be able to work with TNN to provide a shared and supportive space for those who have their own journey to navigate.”

Fiona Henderson, founding Host of Cancer Conversations

What to expect?

These meetings were created to give space to openly discuss experiences of cancer in an empathetic environment, in the knowledge that they are shared with others within the community.

Please see our What to Expect section for detailed information on the format and practicalities of our meetings.
