GIRLS TALK.

What is it?

Girls Talk is an open, honest and non-judgmental peer support space for anyone who identifies as a woman to speak openly about their mental health and to allow them to acknowledge the things in their lives impacting their well-being.

Peer support as a model better equips us all to have better conversations about mental health, mental illness and mental well-being. Talking about mental health with people we know can actually feel harder: it can be difficult to listen without any judgment when we know the person, whereas a room full of strangers can feel safe.

We listen without judgment to those who speak.

Why did it start?

“So many people believe that women are much better at ‘talking’, but sometimes it’s really important to have a space where you feel safe to speak completely openly and honestly about the hard things in life that can impact our mental wellbeing.

I am so grateful for Girls Talk, it provides a space to share with other women who understand. And, if they don’t understand, they will always still listen. The impact that sharing can have is life changing and, sometimes, even life saving.”

- Jodie, Girls Talk Host

Talking about mental health is our strength, not our weakness.
